Time Trials for our Diptanks Chiminea:
We tested the heat method on a cold January day, filled the Diptank from the hose (the starting temperature of the water was 13°C).
A water temperature of 44°C was reached after 3.5 hours of wood-fire in the chiminea. After stirring the water in the tank, the settled temperature was 39 - 40°C.
A perfect off-grid method, the water circulates by thermosiphon.
Cold water from the bottom of the tank is sucked into the bottom inlet of the water tank which starts a steady flow, as the water is heated from the wood-fire within the chiminea, it begins to rise (hot water rises). The hot water enters back into the tank through the top outlet.
No electricity required.
